About Beer Thinker Sports

Welcome to Beer Thinker Sports.

Some of you that come across this site (and I hope that many do) may remember me from my days of writing for the Bleacher Report under the pseudonym of Seattle Lion Fan. Since I wasn’t able to find a home that would allow me to write what I wanted to write about, I figured the only way to accomplish it was to start my own site…thus Beer Thinker Sports was born.

I am not a professional writer by any means. What I am is a fan. I am a fan of the Detroit Lions. I am a fan of the Detroit Tigers. I am a fan of the Seattle Seahawks. I am a fan of the Seattle Mariners. I am a fan of the game of golf (though I am not sure the game of golf is a fan of me!)

I am also a fan of good BBQ and absolutely love a nice chocolaty porter or stout and perhaps a nice single malt Irish whiskey to go along with it. And I can’t wait to hear what everyone else is a fan of.

I’m not sure what this site will develop into. I do know that it isn’t going to be me driving where it does go. My vision is this site will become a sense of community for any and all who wish to participate. And I want to stress any and all are welcome to share and discuss on any articles and posts that hopefully will be written by many, many people

The rules for the site will be simple:

  1. All who are members of this site will give each other the respect that any person deserves. An opinion is just that. It may not agree with yours but respect that others may differ from you. Hopefully, this generates a civil discourse where all sides can feel free to express their opinions without feeling threatened or demeaned.
  2. Flaming will not be tolerated. Swearing will not be tolerated. Bullying will not be tolerated. Name calling will not be tolerated. If you were having any discussion with someone face-to-face, would you behave in this manner? Be civil…you can disagree without stooping to bullying or name calling.
  3. No subject is off limits but there will be an approval process prior to any article getting published. There will be articles that might make people uncomfortable. But that won’t be a constraint to publishing provided the article is well written in a manner that will promote civil discussion.

That’s it…just 3 simple but powerful rules that will be enforced. If you can agree to these terms, join the party and become a Beer Thinker!
